IDENTITY DESIGN & BRAND COLLATERAL
My good friend, Lisa Marie Schnieder approached me to design an identity and brand collateral for her newly created Jewellery and Accessories Fashion Brand, Lalimalu.
THE APPROACH //
Lisa has a large following worldwide, being an acclaimed actress and supermodel in her younger years she wanted something that both embodied her energetic yet eclectic personality. We conceptualised some approaches but the one style that struck in our minds was a link to the esoteric, the symbology of anceint hieroglyphs and tribal origins ranging from native indian, celtic and sanskrit traditions. Apart form being very 'in' right now we chose it as is resonated with her charachter too, which was the core of her brand.
THE CONCEPT //
I wanted the identity to have a clearly identifiable icon that people would recognise and remember. That combined with a clean, simple logotype was essential in keeping with that of a high end fashion brand that would compete with the likes of top jewellers and fashionistas worldwide.
I started with a pyramidical shape form then shifted into an eye, taking inspiration from Lisa herself, who has ultramarine eyes. This was then translated into a clean unique logotype, handmade from scratch which would both be defining yet timeless. Photography by Adam.
